What Is the Meaning of This?

Quick:

I’m Sarah, and I’m here for smashing the patriarchy, capitalism, heteronormativity, the gender binary, ableism, body shaming, white supremacy, ALL THE BULLSHIT, via word art. De-, re-, and co-constructing words and things made of words. Interlexionality! Get into it.

Languid:

Inter alia is a Latin phrase meaning “among other things.” As in:

Article 21 1. Indigenous peoples have the right, without discrimination, to the improvement of their economic and social conditions, including, inter alia, in the areas of education, employment, vocational training and retraining, housing, sanitation, health and social security. (that’s the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, y’all.)

So inter ruralia: “among other rural things.” As in:

I moved to The South in 2010 from New York City and discovered truths including, inter ruralia, that I cannot own chickens because I fall in love with them and then they die.

I started this to write about all that; it has shifted into all that, et alia: lexpeditions I take in my foot-tall 1934 Webster’s International Dictionary (see Word Nord), crossword puzzles I construct and deconstuct (see Decolonize the Crossword), or co-construct (see Participatory Democrossy); and, a repository for resources I have turned to as I do my work–not paid-work, but the person-work of self-education in desperate hopes of living an ethical life (see Help Me Not Be Such an Ass and  Φιλερώτηση, which is a word I made up meaning “love of questions”).

Feel cheerfully welcome to share any of the words, doodles, or puzzles I’ve made; do also note that it was I (Sarah Boddy) who made them.

And the pangolin? I painted it!
